Fun Fact: It has been proven that glasses make us feel and look more competent and industrious.

This was not a thought in the forefront of my mind when seeking the perfect pair of specs, but you better believe my subconscious impulse to buy glasses directly stemmed from the long held stereotype. I've been searching for months. Fittingly, after finally purchasing the perfect pair, I ran across an article in NY Daily News stating, "Job seekers may want to lose the contact lenses and put on the glasses."  Haha! (was my initial response) but after reading the statistics... "Studies at the British College of Optometrists and Ohio State have shown that at least 43% of the population believe speck-wearers appear more intelligent and even more honest…," I decided it was all true and reached up to center the new frames on my nosesmitten.

The spec-wearing association: Classic Nerd. Luckily, for us millennials, the "nerd look" has finally ranked as "cool" and I'm running with the idea.

Now to the jacket. It's just so easy. Easy to pair with thick-framed glasses and more so, easy to wear over anything to evolve an outfit to chic. It is light enough for warmer winter days, but when buttoned and scarved (yes, I made scarf a verb) can keep a night wandering about the city quite cozy.
