Wild Heart Collective: A Guest Post
"One of the great things about blogging is the incredible community you get to be a part of and the people you get to meet." - Wild Heart Collective
Life & Style blog, Wild Heart Collective is a collective blog by three incredibly talented sisters. Courtney, Kaleigh and Karianne have won our affection and support through the blogging community. Their style perspective, tutorials and uplifting spirits are insightful and completely contagious. Today, we want to highlight Wild Heart Collective and encourage you to follow along on their journey! To formally introduce you, we've come up with a few Q & A's;
Q. You are three stylish and classy sisters. (How lucky are you guys?!) What has been the most rewarding part of the blogging process as siblings?
A. When Courtney lived in California, the three of us didn’t get a chance to be together all that often. Now that we are all living in Oklahoma (and blogging together!) it has given us the opportunity to have lots of fun sister time!
Q. We know Courtney is oldest, "a curator of pretty things, coffee lover and wanna-be calligrapher." (Though we think it's safe to say that you ARE a talented calligrapher) Tell us more about your calligraphy.
A. You are much much too sweet! I have always been obsessed with handwriting and doodling, but only recently started dabbling in calligraphy (I also just took my first brush lettering class!). So far it has just been a hobby and creative outlet for me. It’s so relaxing to put on a little music (ray charles station on pandora as of late!) and just doodle. A lot of times I end up writing out lyrics to the songs I’m listening too. It’s great practice!
Q. Kaleigh, you're "the middle sister, a jill of all trades and self-proclaimed font snob." We take it you had something to do with the site design and logo? Tell us how you helped chose the "look" for WHC. We love it!
A. We all agreed before hand that we wanted something clean and simple for our website. After that it was my job to filter through my enormous collection of fonts and put something together that I felt would fit the vibe we were going for.
Q. Karianne: "Little sister, photography enthusiast, cappuccino obsessed and lover of cold weather." (Again, safe to say that you ARE a photographer) Where did your photography interest begin? Do you plan to continue your journey in photography professionally? We can't wait to see more of your photos!
A. My interest in photography started a few years ago when Kaleigh needed someone to take outfit photos for her personal blog. So I guess I just stumbled into photography by accident! I wouldn’t call myself a professional photographer, but it is something I enjoy doing and I will continue to explore in the future.
Q. WHC's Valentine's Day Styled Shoot was so much fun to see! You all complemented one other well in fashion choices and accessories. What was your favorite part about the shoot?
A. Probably our favorite part of the Valentine’s Day shoot was getting to dream up an idea and then see it all come together! What’s not to love about getting to play around with flowers, balloons and donuts all day?!
Q. On the contrary, what do you think is the toughest thing about blogging? What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
A. Blogging is a lot harder than what it may seem like! For us, the toughest part is sticking to a schedule for photoshoots & posting. It is so easy to get behind! We have found that It is definitely easier to join forces and tackle the whole blogging world together rather than taking it on alone. The best advice we can give for anyone just starting out is to just go for it! We are always learning something new each and every day about blogging. It’s a process! Also, don’t be afraid to ask other bloggers for advice. One of the great things about blogging is the incredible community you get to be a part of and the people you get to meet. Like the lovely Art of Style ladies :)
Q. If WHC was a place, (besides the inter-web) what/where would it be? :)
A. What a fun question! We think Wild Heart Collective would be an old factory building with lots and lots of windows. A place with tons of character and charm. And an endless supply of cute pens and coffee :)
