Columns & Cut-Offs
Date: April 7, 2015 | Location: Atlanta (Inman Park), Georgia
Searching for locations to shoot has opened my eyes to the beauty in everyday places. Although I have seen many of these places before, I never paid much attention to them. Looking through the lens of a camera has changed my perspective on what I consider beautiful, and for that I am thankful.
THE LOCATION: When I came across the 54 Columns in Inman Park last weekend, they immediately caught my eye. The work, designed by artist Sol LeWitt, is made up of 54 concrete pillars ranging in height from 10 to 20 feet and arranged in a triangular layout references the urban environment and Atlanta’s skyline. I find the minimalism of the structure very appealing and knew it would make for an excellent shooting location.
THE OUTFIT: These cutoffs have officially made it out of my closet for the season. With weather in the high seventies and eighties, they're quickly becoming my latest uniform. I decided to pair them with a few of my new favorite layers: a comfy striped tee and lovely, light gray bralette. I also picked up a new crossbody that I plan on taking with me on my upcoming Italian honeymoon. This Target steal is versatile and the ideal size for traveling.
