Heat Wave Hues
Date: June 16, 2015 | Location: Decatur, Georgia
Summer temperatures are definitely here to stay. It has been in the upper 90's nearly everyday for the past few weeks. But you won't see me complaining. I'm a hot weather girl, through-and-through. However, nothing is worst than not being dressed appropriately for the sweltering temperatures.
I've found a new heat wave uniform in this blood orange romper and open-knit maxi sweater. It's easy and comfortable, two key necessities for staying cool. I love how the long sweater adds interest to the outfit and really makes it stand out. I decided to accessorize with a few favorites from Madewell: the Billie bootie and fringe cross body clutch. I've had these booties for nearly two years now and they have yet to fail me. This fringe clutch is my newest purse and definitely a staple for the season.
I had the pleasure of shooting this outfit with the lovely Shelby Rae of Shelby Rae Photography. Let me tell ya, I was blown away by this talented young woman. Her ambition and drive were a breath of fresh air. I came away from our session (and post-shoot glass of wine at Decatur's Brick Store Pub) feeling inspired and excited about the future of Art of Style. Anna Claire and I are planning on working with her when AC is in town next week. I cannot wait to see all that comes from this new collaboration!
