Creating a Capsule Wardrobe with Cladwell: Part II
Date: January 27, 2016 | Location: Atlanta, Georgia
I decided to create my very own capsule based on what I learned while using Cladwell's capsule building tool (make sure to check out Part I of this post if you missed it). It is usually best practice to create a capsule wardrobe per season - that way you don't have to include items that aren't appropriate for the current weather. Thus, my cold weather capsule wardrobe came to life!
I started with a good closet clean-out. As I previously mentioned, when my husband and I moved into our new home together, I started organizing/getting rid of unnecessary items. Creating a capsule encouraged me to finish that process. I even got my hubs to join in on the cleanse! We sorted through our unwanted items and separated them between Goodwill and consignment.
Next, I decided to begin by choosing the shoes that I felt would suffice for the next few months. I made sure to include my bean boots for our upcoming ski trip and in case we get any snow here in Atlanta (fingers crossed!). I've linked everything so that you can easily replicate this cold weather capsule, or at least portions of it!
The rest came pretty easily and was fun, too! It is kind of like going shopping in your own closet. After choosing my shoes, I moved on to accessories + topmost layer and ended up with a few cozy hats, my favorite winter scarf and my North Face down parka.
All the other decisions were simple. Each item served a unique purpose. To complete my capsule I chose items for the following categories: cardigans + vests, base layers, light jackets and bottoms.

And there you have it! I'm hoping that having this capsule will streamline the process of getting dressed each day and help me focus on what really matters. I'm not promising that I won't ever stray from this, but it is definitely great to have! Please let me know if you have any questions about my capsule or how to use Cladwell.
