Makeup Products of the Moment

Makeup Products of the Moment

Date: January 6, 2016 | Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Prior to celebrating the Christmas holidays, I decided it was time to invest in some new makeup. I like to keep my makeup routine fairly simple. I try my best to streamline it as much as possible, while still feeling good about the end result. On the average workday, I apply my makeup in about five minutes once I get to my office's parking deck. I'm always on the lookout for makeup products that help me cut off some time. Can you tell I'm not a morning person?

My search for the perfect products led me to the beauty gurus over at Sephora. With help from the always friendly sales associates, I feel I scored some great new products. Below is a list of all my new scores, as well as products I've been using for years now:

FACE:

Giorgio Armani Luminessence CC Color Control Bright Moisturizer SPF 35 // I'm not big on foundation. For me, it's all about letting your natural beauty speak for itself. I've been using BB creams for quite some time now and decided it was time to switch things up! This one from Giorgio Armani it's just enough coverage to only require one layer.

Perricone MD No Blush Blush // This is the first Perricone MD product I've used and I've gotta say, I'm a believer. I love how this blush looks super natural and imagine it can be used on just about any skin tone.

Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Touche Eclat // A cult beauty favorite, Touche Eclat lives up to its reputation. I started using this as both a concealer and highlighter a few months back. I absolutely love it! Maybe too much, because my first tube ran out fairly quickly. With a higher price tag, I'm definitely trying to use it more sparingly on a day to day basis. I will stick to highlighting for nights out and special events. ((It's also so fun to say! Once a beauty counter rep teaches you how to properly pronounce it, of course. ha!))

Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder // I bought this to use as a translucent finishing powder, and it's really impressed me. Since I do my makeup in the car, the loose powder that I'd been using for ages was getting all over the place. No matter how careful I was, I always seemed to manage to get it on my outfit. A Sephora associate recommended this powder in 100 FINISH LINE to put an end to my loose powder woes.

EYES:

Urban Decay 'Naked Basics' Palette // I think I've had this palette for about a year now? It's probably time to renew for health purposes, but I still have plenty of it left. The colors are the perfect combination to step up your natural, daytime eye makeup.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara // I tend to switch mascaras frequently, but this one is currently getting the job done great. It only requires about one and a half coats to make my eyelashes long and thick -- a definite time saver.

Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow // This is my go-to for nights out. Like the Naked palette, it too has lasted forever. My favorite color combo is 226 TISSE RIVOLI, which provides the perfect, shimmery shades of brown, tan and cream.

EXTRAS:

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Perfume // I bought this as my wedding day perfume and haven't stopped using it since. I love how light it is while still being distinct. I've had a lot of compliments, so I can only assume it's a keeper!

Bobbi Brown Art Stick // This is my ideal everyday lipstick. I have it in the Cherrywood color, which is a shade of burgundy. It goes on quickly and cleanly.
