Last Night in Positano
Date: October 10, 2016 | Location: Positano, Italy
Ahh, our last night in Positano. While I can now look back fondly on this night, it wasn't always ideal, to say the least. We spent our last day exploring Positano's winding streets and taking a boat over to a private beach. It was as dreamy as the Amalfi always is, but I had picked up a rough cold the day before and was doing my best to push through it.
We headed up to our Airbnb around 5 o'clock to get ready for the night ahead. The plan was to take a few quick pictures on Marina Grande beach at sunset before heading to Fornillo Beach for the Festa del Pesce, Positano's annual Fish Festival. As usual, we were cutting it close to be ready by sunset. We gathered our things and quickly headed down the numerous flights of stairs, making it to Marina Grande beach just in time for sunset. As soon as we began shooting, I noticed that I had stepped in dog poop during the rush down to the beach. I cleaned it off the best I could and we continued with the shoot, despite being annoyed at the situation.
I can now look back and laugh, but I wasn't so happy at the time! Blogs and social media have the tendency to make things appear picture-perfect, but trust me, that is not always the case. Gross as it was, I hope you enjoyed hearing what really happened that night. After the "incident", we ended up having a wonderful evening at the Festa del Pesce and seeing a side of Positano that we had never experienced before. This crop top and midi skirt combo was made for festive nights such as this one and my espadrilles provided for lots of comfortable walking (once they were cleaned up, of course!).
