Trench & Shorts

Date: August 31, 2016 | Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Even though it is still as hot as blue blazes outside (yep, I just said that), I can't help but get excited about fall and all it brings with it. From lower temps and crisper air to new fashion trends, something about fall makes life seem a little more exciting. Even though I've been out of school for some time now (longer than I want to admit, really), I feel that fall still represents a season of new beginnings in my life. I'm looking forward to spending our first autumn being established in our home. Despite having moved in October 1st of last year, we were so busy moving, furnishing and renovating that we were unable to enjoy the season as we usually would.

On a walk the other night, my husband, Bobby, and I began plotting our bucket list for the new season. At the top of the list: camping in north Georgia or Tennessee. Because we dated for seven years before tying the knot, we have been able to do a lot of traveling together. We've stayed in cabins in the mountains numerous times and gone on dozens of hikes, but we've never gone "real tent camping" together. Let's just hope we don't kill each other, am I right?

I decided to wear my green trench with my trusty Free People cutoffs to make this outfit seem a bit more season transitional. The trench is lightweight so it doesn't make you sweat in this "Hotlanta" weather. I finallyyy found a lace-up, collared shirt and couldn't be happier with it! I've been searching for the right one for quite a while now. I finished off the look with a Madewell leather belt and some open-toed booties.
