We're finally back home after spending eleven nights in Europe! In case you missed my Instagram, we surprised my father in-law in Florence for my in-law's 30th wedding anniversary trip. My mother in-law, Bobby and I have been scheming up this plan since late spring. I was so tempted to share our plans on the blog, but I worried the surprise would accidentally be spoiled if I did. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and I have so much content to share with you all over the coming weeks.

Prior to leaving for our trip, Bobby and I started to think about what luggage we wanted to bring with us. We traveled to Italy on our honeymoon back in 2015 and definitely learned a thing or two about carrying luggage while navigating through many different modes of transportation, cobblestone streets and endless flights of stairs. The handle on my old luggage broke midway through our trip, making it even more difficult to get around. Needless to say, we were on the lookout for a new carry-on (we always try to pack light!) that would make our lives a little easier this time around.

I, of course, turned to social media and blogs that I trust to see if there were any brands getting positive attention. I quickly came across Away, a luggage brand with a simple approach: to create luggage that is designed to be resilient, resourceful, and essential to your personal travel habits. The sleek design of "The Carry-On" quickly caught my eye and the extra features made up my mind. In addition to complying with carry-on size requirements, this piece features a compression system, spinner wheels AND a high-capacity battery with two USB ports. After arriving in Milan with two dead phones on our honeymoon, I knew this carry-on would be a lifesaver for us.

By the end of our trip, we were sold on Away. I could actually close my luggage with ease after stuffing it way too full (bad habit) and the side handle made it easy to carry it up stairs and onto trains. If you're in the market for a new carry-on, look no further. We snapped these pics after arriving in Paris on our last day. You can shop my travel look below:
