Master Bathroom Renovation Plans
Our master bathroom renovation is officially underway! I can hear the sounds of my husband, Bobby, removing the old bathroom tile as I type. Despite the fact that is the first of many home renovation projects for us, it is the first one that I am documenting on the blog. The majority of them happened so quickly (thanks to the help of my dad) that I didn't even have time to post about them. This is also the first project that we've hired contractors to help us with. Bobby is doing the demo work + installing some shiplap and the contractors will be installing the new tile, fixtures and vanity.
We have been working with Bobby's aunt and uncle, who own a design + renovation company, to come up with some ideas to transform our small master bathroom into a tiny oasis - complete with enough storage for the basic essentials. They have given us some great guidance so far and I've been doing my own research as well. To my surprise, Bobby and I quickly agreed on a "new look" for our bathroom. We both tend to have strong opinions, so it was nice that we had the same vision in mind. Through my research over the past few weeks, I've compiled a list of design elements that I want to include, as well as some actual products that we've purchased or plan to purchase soon. The following sums up my vision for our master bathroom:
- HEXAGON + SUBWAY TILE
- CLASSIC BLACK + WHITE
- CHAMPAGNE BRONZE FIXTURES
- NATURAL WOOD VANITY
- MID CENTURY MODERN LIGHT FIXTURE
- MARBLE OPEN SHELVES
- VINTAGE FEEL
Although we will be purchasing everything new for the bathroom, I still want it to have a vintage feel. We live in a 1960's ranch and have many mid-century elements throughout our home. We purchased our vanity base from Restoration Hardware and plan to purchase fixtures from Delta's champagne bronze line, which we are going to check out in person this weekend. I'm very excited about the progress we have made so far and cannot wait for the final outcome. Stay tuned for more!
